Cemetery Clean-up May 10th 9am-Noon
Meet at Collier Cemetery (Ranger Rd west of US127)
Volunteers needed – Bring your gloves, shovels, rakes and weed wackers if you have them.
Alternate rain day will be May 17th same time if needed.

Come meet your township officials and tour the new suite of offices that have been added to our township hall. Everyone is welcome.

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is scheduled for 10:30am

Refreshments are being provided courtesy of DTE

It is the hope of the Township Board that the renovations made to the township hall will help us be more accessible to the residents we serve.

Tarry Stahl appointed Township Clerk

On January 3rd 2025, Tarry Stahl was appointed to fill the vacancy of Township Clerk. Our previous clerk, Barbara Hoffer, has agreed to stay on as Deputy Clerk while Tarry is training & until a new deputy is appointed to help ensure a smooth transition.

1) You provide a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope with your payment (5 max per envelope)
2) You provide a valid email address with your payment
3) You can pick it up from the Treasurer’s Office at the Township Hall

About Washington Township

Washington Township in Gratiot County, Michigan, was established in 1855. The township hall was built in 1856.  Its roots were set with the formation of the village of Pompeii in 1854 and has maintained its rural character and agricultural roots since its founding.
Over the years, Washington Township has grown into a community that balances its historical heritage with modern developments, including the recent addition of renewable energy projects.
